The Reed Report Page 2
I forgive all the boards of educations in this country for perpetrating a fraud on our young people under the guise of Education.
I forgive all the mothers and fathers in this country who take no interest in their childrens’ development and think that the PTA is a city in china rather than a vehicle by which to brighten the future of our children.
I forgive all the PIMP PREACHERS of the world (you know who you are) who nickle slick and shuck and jive from the pulpit using religion as an opiate of the people. Now pass the cup of accountability.
I forgive the media for more often than not portraying Blacks in the worst light humanly possible. And for some of our people who continue to give them material with their antics.
I forgive and pray for all the atheists of the world because in the end you will be dressed up in your black suits with no where to go.
And finally, I forgive all the would-be leaders in Washington who manufactured a transparent excuse for the Iraqi war and still refuse to bring our troops home where they belong.
While I believe we must learn to forgive, WE MUST NEVER FORGET the atrocities we suffer by the hands of others and sometimes by our own deeds. Forgetting is a metaphor for ignoring. But in spite of all, forgiving I really believe is socially redeeming and essential to societal progress. When we forgive, our capacity to love one another is enhanced. Can we run it back one time to the old school where somebody can give me five on the Black-hand side so sisters and brothers can love one another. Forgiveness and love are the essential ingredients to liberation of the soul. Liberty uplifts the human condition. Liberty herself lies in the hearts of men and women....and if we allow her to die there, we all are in trouble.
