Legal Biography
Attorney Arnold E. Reed received his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1990. While at Iowa, he distinguished himself in becoming an Associate Editor of the Iowa Law Review. After graduating in 1990, Arnold Reed became a Law Clerk on the Michigan Supreme Court for the Honorable Dennis W. Archer. Mr. Reed then became Chief Law Clerk for Chief Justice Conrad Mallett of the Michigan Supreme Court. Attorney Reed has authored and published numerous articles in the area of Police Discretion and Misconduct. He has lectured locally and nationally on various topics including the Fourth Amendment (Search and Seizure).

Arnold Reed is highly regarded as one of the best trial lawyers in the nation. In 2000, Michigan Lawyer’s Weekly profiled Attorney Arnold Reed as a rising star in the legal community. His cases have been featured in local and national newspapers and profiled on 60 Minutes, Court TV, Dateline NBC, and Geraldo Rivera. Attorney Reed has handled numerous high profile cases and negotiations in Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, New York and California. His litigation against a Fortune 500 company resulted in a six percent increase in the company’s minority workforce nationwide. His litigation against a large local shopping mall resulted in changes to mall arrest practices and procedures of young males in general, but particularly young Black males. Attorney Reed has established a national presence with such clients as R. Kelly, Jessica Care Moore (a nationally known poet and author) and “NITICE” (a group in which Mr. Reed negotiated a deal with Warner Bros.) and Rap/Television star, L.L. Cool J.

Attorney Arnold Reed is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, the National Registry of Who’s Who, and a lifetime member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc.
